School Council
Order! Order!
During the first term, the elected school council travelled to London to visit the Houses of Parliament. They had a tour of the House of Lords and House of Commons, they even got to see the Throning Room where the monarch prepares for the State Opening of Parliament.
At the end of the tour, the school council took part in a workshop and debated whether smoking should be banned completely or not. During the workshop, a member of Sir Robert Buckland's team (our local MP) came to visit us. The children had a wonderful time.
Y6 Disco
At the most recent Y6 School Valentine's Disco, the Y6 councillors helped to run the stall where children could buy drinks and themed gifts.
Themed Lunches
After the success of the Chinese New Year lunch, the school council agreed that there should be more themed lunches. The first of these lunches was based on American Independence Day which is held on the 4th of July. Working in collaboration with the wonderful ladies in the kitchen, the school council devised an American themed lunch that included hot dogs, cheeseburgers, French fries, Detroit pizza, apple pie, New York cheese cake and doughnuts. There was also a colouring competition where pupils submitted some colourful work.
