Another excellent OFSTED Report for Goddard Park

Goddard Park has received an excellent report from OFSTED following a recent School Inspection. Goddard Park became an Academy in 2010 and has the reputation of one of the best schools in the town.

‘I am delighted that OFSTED has once again recognized that Goddard Park is a really good school’, says, Mike Welsh, Headteacher.

Over the last two years Sir Michael Wilshaw has overseen the OFSTED Inspections becoming far more demanding with three major revisions of the framework. Many schools are in difficulty because of this and are placed in the Requiring Improvement category.

Goddard Park is Good in all respects and there are aspects of outstanding practice that enable the children to make excellent progress, well above the average.

The Report states that, ‘Parents and carers are appreciative of all that the school offers’. It goes on to say ‘The Headteacher, senior leaders and governors share ambition to see the school improve continually. This is supported by all staff, whose work supports good rates of progress for all pupils. Pupils are polite, friendly and welcoming. They are encouraged to take a range of
responsibilities, for example as School Councillors or School Eco-Warriors, which help them to develop their social skills and sense of responsibility’.
Mr Welsh thanked the Staff and Governors for their unstinting work and the pupils who showed how much they enjoy school life and benefit immensely from being in this school.
‘We remain one of the very best Schools in Swindon’, he said.
