In Year 3 we have been starting to learn about rocks and soil in science. This week we have been learning about fossils. Some of class 12 have taken on the challenge of becoming archaeologists and have been trying to uncover a hidden fossil.

Year 3 have made a fantastic start to 2018 in school.
We have managed to write convincing, persuasive letters about why we should go swimming for the rest of Year 3. Class 10 and 12 had lots of fun on Thursday morning swimming and are very excited to continue learning…

A couple of weeks ago Year 3 mummified a tomato using bicarbonate of soda and salt (natron salt). We waited eagerly to find out what happened to our tomato and today we got to see the results. Take a look at some of our photos of our mummified tomato.

Class 12 looked at the importance of Remembrance Day and discussed why we wear poppies to remember those who have fought for our country. We were then very lucky to have a Year 4 come down and show us how to make some fantastic poppies.

Yesterday Year 3 started to look at ancient Egypt by turning some children into a mummy. We also mummified a tomato and in 14 days we will find out what a mummified tomato looks like.
